1. General
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations (Swiss nDSG) and this privacy policy.
2. Data Collection
We collect data that you provide to us voluntarily. This occurs, for example, when you use our Sign-up Form (Email, Region interest) or when you complete your Profile (Salary, Employment status, Housing preferences) for the purpose of housing matching.
3. Data Sharing
Your trust is paramount. Your data is shared only with verified Partner Agencies and Landlords and only upon your explicit request or consent (e.g., when you accept an invite to view a property or connect with an agent).
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties for advertising purposes. Website cookies work differently and are described in section 4a — they never carry your name, e-mail address or profile data.
3a. Meta Pixel and Cross-Brand Remarketing
With your consent to cookies, this site loads the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.). It records that a browser visited Offlist and stores that signal in a remarketing audience. Nothing loads before you accept, and you can revoke your choice at any time in the cookie banner.
Two audiences are built from this signal: one for Offlist's own advertising, and one for our affiliated partner brands — currently Expat Savvy, a Swiss insurance advisory. The reason is practical — people searching for housing in Switzerland are usually about to move here, and anyone moving to Switzerland must take out basic health insurance within three months of arrival. Only the browser-level signal described above is used: no name, no e-mail address, no salary, employment or housing-preference data from your profile. Advertisements never reference your visit to this site.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Art. 31 revFADP). Audience membership expires automatically after 180 days.
4. Tools & Security
We use the following third-party services to operate our platform securely:
- Supabase: For secure database management and authentication.
- Resend: For transactional email delivery.
- Vercel: For secure hosting and deployment.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or manipulation.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to request information about the data we store about you at any time. You also have the right to request the correction of incorrect data or the deletion of your data, provided there is no legal obligation to retain it.
